From SteriLance’s Vision to the OneStep Mission

Onestep was born from a simple belief: No one should have to fear a fingerstick. SteriLance, a global innovator in capillary blood collection and diabetes care, saw countless patients – children and adults alike – struggling with anxiety and pain from traditional lancets. Determined to change this, our team at SteriLance set out to create the ultimate solution for needle phobia. With over 300 million people worldwide afraid of needles, we knew we were tackling an important challenge.

Origins of the OneStep Brand

SteriLance’s journey in medical technology spans decades. We’ve provided reliable lancets and lancing devices to healthcare professionals around the world. But we dreamed of something new: a device so comfortable and easy to use that even a first-timer (or a nervous child) could succeed without fear. The concept of “OneStep” emerged from this dream – the idea of condensing a complicated, multi-step procedure into one seamless step for the user. After years of research and countless prototypes, OneStep was developed and integrated into the SteriLance family of products, embodying our commitment to innovation and patient comfort.

Innovation & Technology

The OneStep lancing device isn’t just another medical gadget – it’s a leap forward in design and engineering. We patented the capless loading mechanism and TPC pain-free structure that set OneStep apart. By removing the need to detach and reattach endcaps, we eliminated extra steps that often confuse users. By perfecting the lancet’s motion path (Total Path Control), we achieved a remarkably steady and gentle stick. In clinical evaluations, this translated to a 64% reduction in blood collection time and dramatically lower pain scores. In fact, many users say it barely feels like a poke at all. This level of innovation caught global attention, earning OneStep the Red Dot Award for product design in 2022. We’re proud that our little device is making big waves!
